Tanzania Riding Safaris

You can explore remote wilderness and little known areas in the North of the country far from modern crowds and well away from any office. Our horses are very well trained, and you are always backed up by our experienced riding guides and safari crew.
All Tanzanian safaris feature great camp fires under the open skies of the African night, at the end of each memorable day's riding across unfenced wilderness in close contact with nature. The areas in which you ride are some of the most scenic to be found in East Africa being close to the Great Rift Valley and at the foot of Mt. Kilimanjaro. Our own stable at Uto Farm provides you with the best trained safari horses to be found in Africa.

Our "Out of Africa" farm in Tanzania is a nice place to relax and enjoy the peace and quiet of an old style cattle and horse ranch. The farm is located some 30km from Arusha at 2000m altitude on the North-western slopes of Mt. Meru volcano, fifth highest mountain on the continent of Africa. The mountain appears to be right in our back garden! In the other direction the house and garden overlook the African Rift Valley with stunning views to the far horizon. We accommodate overnight visitors and people wishing to relax for a few days in the countryside in scenic natural surroundings. Activities at the farm include BIRDWATCHING, RIDING, POLOCROSSE PRACTICE, WALKING, CAVE VISITS and VISITS TO THE LOCAL MASAI MARKET. Uto farm is the base for our riding safaris.

Kilimanjaro An exciting and beautiful 7 day bush ride covering some 200 km aimed at intermediate to experienced riders accustomed to riding English. Passing through Masailand at the very base of Mt. Kilimanjaro, the area has some of East Africa's most spectacular scenery, surrounded by 5895m high Kilimanjaro to the east, 4660m high Meru to the South, the rugged but beautiful Longido to the North and the Rift Valley volcanoes, Kitumbeine and Gelai to the west.
